About the Opportunity

Join the leadership team at our brand-new Joondanna centre and play an integral role in shaping its culture, educational excellence, and long-term success.

Working closely with the Centre Director, you will support the day-to-day leadership and operations of the service while fulfilling the responsibilities of the Educational Leader. You will mentor and inspire educators, drive high-quality educational practice, build meaningful partnerships with families, and help create a positive and collaborative culture where children, educators, and families thrive.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will champion continuous improvement, support quality outcomes, and contribute to achieving and maintaining excellence under the National Quality Framework.

This position is ideal for an experienced early childhood leader who is passionate about inspiring others,



delivering exceptional education and care, and further developing their leadership career within a growing family-owned organisation.

Key Responsibilities

As our Assistant Director / Educational Leader, you will:

- Support the Centre Director in the day-to-day leadership and operations of the service.

- Undertake the responsibilities of the Educational Leader by guiding, mentoring, and supporting educators in delivering high-quality educational programs.

- Lead, coach, and inspire educators to continually improve teaching practices and outcomes for children.

- Foster reflective practice and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

- Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

- Assist with staffing, rostering, occupancy, compliance, and the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.

- Contribute to Quality Improvement Planning (QIP), Assessment and Rating preparation, and ongoing service improvement.

- Build strong, respectful, and genuine partnerships with children, families, educators, and the wider community.

- Maintain compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and Panda's policies and procedures.

- Champion Panda's values of Consistency, Respect, Intentionality, Collaboration, and Speaking Up in everything you do.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or an ACECQA-approved equivalent).

- Previous leadership experience as an Assistant Director, Educational Leader, Lead Educator, or similar role within an early childhood education service.





- A current Working with Children Check and the ability to satisfy all child safe screening and legislative requirements relevant to the role.

- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain).

- A strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), and Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.

- Excellent communication, organisational, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

- A passion for mentoring educators and building high-performing teams.

- A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused approach to leadership.

- A genuine commitment to providing exceptional education and care for children and outstanding service to families.
