The South African Shop is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic employee to join our team on a part-time basis at our Burleigh Heads location. This role is central to our mission of delivering authentic products. As a biltong manufactorer, you will be responsible for preparing, hanging, and packing up boxes to send around Australia. This position offers the perfect opportunity to be part of a vibrant hospitality and business that celebrates biltong for all. ItItss a non customer facing role.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and hang Biltong into their dryers.
- Maintain hygiene and food safety standards in all preparation areas
- Package jerky products attractively and ensure proper labelling
- Maintain a clean and organised space
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation and replenishment
- Comply with all food handling regulations and company policies
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in food preparation, retail, or hospitality is preferred
- Food handling certification or willingness to obtain one
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation
- Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions
- Flexibility to work part-time hours including weekends
