Build the systems that power the business
This is a hands-on opportunity to design and build a centralised, unified business platform that connects key operational processes, improves visibility, reduces manual administration, and creates a strong foundation for future growth and AI automation.
About JB Group
JB Group is a diversified Australian business with three dynamic divisions:
Caravan Manufacturing & Digital Marketing
We build and market leading caravan brands, supported by a digital team producing high-impact websites, product showcases, and online experiences.
Media & Publishing
We operate national media platforms producing TV, digital, social, and print content for highly engaged travel and lifestyle audiences.
Parts & Accessories
Our retail and ecommerce operations deliver premium caravan and outdoor equipment across Australia.
Our brands include JB Caravans, New Age Caravans, Traveller Caravans, Paradise Motor Homes, Etime RV Centre, and What’s Up Downunder.
As we continue to grow, we are strengthening our digital capabilities and looking for a talented AI Automation & Application Developer to help build the next generation of our internal systems, integrations, automation, and AI-enabled tools.
The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced, practical AI Automation & Application Developer to design, build, and continuously improve a centralised, unified platform for JB Group.
The platform will initially bring together key operational functions that are currently managed across separate systems and manual processes. The first phase will focus on:
Dealer inventory management
Service and warranty management
Parts ordering and invoicing
Factory build-order management
You will work alongside a broader technology team, including other developers, and collaborate with teams across the business. While you will have ownership of key projects, you will not be expected to work in isolation or be solely responsible for every technology function described in this role.
This role will evolve as JB Group’s digital capability grows. The successful candidate will help shape the future roadmap for business systems, applications, integrations, automation initiatives,
and AI-enabled products across the Group.
What you will do
Design and build a centralised, unified business platform tailored to JB Group’s operational requirements.
Develop dealer inventory-management tools, including stock visibility, allocation, status tracking, and reporting.
Build service and warranty workflows, including job tracking, approvals, documentation, customer updates, and reporting.
Develop parts ordering and invoicing processes that improve accuracy, visibility, and operational efficiency.
Build factory build-order workflows to support production planning, progress tracking, and communication between relevant teams.
Develop secure web applications, dashboards, and reports that give teams clear, current operational information.
Integrate business systems through APIs, including accounting, CRM, ecommerce, supplier, communication, and reporting platforms where relevant.
Build practical workflow automation that reduces repetitive work, duplicated data entry, and avoidable errors.
Develop secure MCP (Model Context Protocol) services that allow approved AI tools to access relevant business information and perform permitted actions.
Implement AI-assisted features such as service-request categorisation, record search, report preparation, exception identification, and customer-update drafting.
Identify and develop future digital products, including dealer portals, customer-facing applications, mobile tools, and other web-based services.
Contribute to the digital roadmap by recommending and delivering new applications that improve the experience for dealers, customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Work with stakeholders to map processes, prioritise improvements, test solutions, and support adoption.
Maintain code quality, documentation, access controls, backups, monitoring, and security practices.
What we are looking for
Demonstrated experience building and supporting business applications, ideally in a full-stack or internal systems role.
Strong experience with APIs, integrations, relational databases, and secure data handling.
Experience with modern web development and cloud-hosted applications.
Practical experience with workflow automation and AI-enabled products or services.
Understanding of MCP, or a strong willingness to learn and implement it responsibly.
Experience with inventory, service, warranty, parts, invoicing, manufacturing, ERP, CRM, or operational business systems is highly regarded.
Ability to translate operational requirements into simple, reliable software solutions.
Clear communication skills and confidence working directly with non-technical staff.
A self-directed, organised approach to delivering work in a fast-moving environment.
Bonus skills - not essential
While we are open to the technology stack that best suits the solution, experience with the following modern tools would be highly regarded. These are examples of technologies we may use, not mandatory requirements:
Supabase, including database design, authentication, storage, and real-time functionality.
Next.js and modern React-based web application development.
Vercel for application deployment, hosting, and environment management.
GitHub, including source control, pull requests, documentation, and collaborative development workflows.
We value practical problem-solving and a willingness to learn. Candidates do not need experience with every technology listed, provided they have solid development fundamentals and can build reliable, secure business applications.
Why join us?
Lead the development of a business-critical unified platform from the ground up.
Build systems that directly support dealer operations, service, warranty, parts, invoicing, and factory production.
Work across a diverse group of caravan, retail, media, digital, and ecommerce businesses.
Create practical automation and AI capability that delivers measurable value.
Help establish a secure, scalable digital foundation for future business growth.
See your work used by the people it is designed to support.
How to apply
Please submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your relevant application-development, integration, and automation experience.
Where possible, include examples of systems, integrations, or workflows you have built.
