Anglicare NSW South, NSW West & ACT (Anglicare) is a not-for-profit organisation currently seeking Room Leader (Diploma qualified) to join our team in Franklin, ACT. We are deeply committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children, and we maintain zero tolerance for child abuse in any form.

About the Opportunity
As a Room Leader (Diploma qualified), you will be responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality education and care programs and practices that supports all children’s learning and participation. The Room Leader will support the Director to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children enrolled.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of high-quality early childhood education programs aligned with the EYLF, NQF and National Quality Standards.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive,
engaging and stimulating learning environment that promotes children's wellbeing, development, and participation.
- Build positive, respectful, and collaborative relationships with children, families, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor educators within the room, fostering best practice, professional growth and a positive team culture.
- Ensure curriculum decisions are inclusive, responsive to individual needs, and reflect diversity, equity and anti-bias practices.
- Maintain accurate observations, assessments, and documentation of children's learning and development, ensuring a complete cycle of planning and reflection.
- Support the development and implementation of individual wellbeing, learning, and support plans for children.
- Promote children's rights, safety and wellbeing, adhering to Child Safe Standards, mandatory reporting obligations and organisational policies.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding children's learning, development and wellbeing, encouraging meaningful family engagement.
- Maintain current sector knowledge by engaging in professional development, ongoing training, networking and professional activities.
- Adherence to principles of the National Model Code (Taking Images or Videos of Children While Providing Early Childhood Education and Care), Early Childhood Australia’s Code of Ethics and Anglicare's Code of Conduct.
About You
- You hold an ACECQA‑approved Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
- You have minimum 3 years' experience working with children as a Room Leader in Early Learning environment.
- You demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding children and upholding their safety and wellbeing at all times.
- You have a solid understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF), including the National Quality Standards (NQS), the Early Years Learning Framework, and the My Time, Our Place Framework for learning.
- You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- You bring energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to your work, along with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
- You are committed to Anglicare’s mission and values of integrity, inclusiveness, dignity, and compassion.
- You hold a current ACECQA approved First Aid certificate – Provide First Aid in an education and care setting (HLTAID012) or willingness to obtain.
- You have current ACECQA approved Child Protection qualifications (CHCPRT002, CHCPRT025 or CHCPRT026).
- You have a current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card – ACT.
- You have completed the foundation modules of the National Child Safety Training provided by the Australian Centre for Child Protection (prior to employment)
