Cairns Aged Care GP is a small, accredited mobile general practice with a Principal GP, a practice nurse team, a and a practice manager, caring for over 300 residents across aged care facilities in Cairns. We are now expanding our team and are looking for one more Fellow

Your whole week in one or two places

If you've looked at aged care GP work before, you know the usual catch: six facilities, a car full of paperwork,

and half your day spent driving. Not here. Every one of your patients lives in one of two facilities, minutes

apart. You walk the same corridors, work with the same nurses, and follow the same residents. Its the continuity that made you want to be a GP, without the waiting room.

And then there''s Cairns

Finish a morning round and be on the Esplanade for lunch, on the reef by the weekend, or in the Daintree by

Saturday morning. No capital-city commute, no winter, and a genuine community need for your skills. Cairns is

DPA and MM2, so the location works for doctors subject to workforce requirements, but mostly, it just works

as a place to live.

Build your own roster. Two days, four days, school hours, or a compressed week that gives you Fridays back —

well work around what you need rather than handing you a timetable. Rounds are scheduled, not reactive, so

you finish when you planned to. Telehealth handles routine follow-up from wherever you are, and after-hours

is by agreement only. Take leave when you want it: as a contractor you're not competing for a roster slot, and we cover your patients while you're away.

It's the arrangement that works for GPs winding back from full time practice, parents who need the school run

to be non-negotiable, and doctors who simply want their evenings and weekends to belong to them again.

About you

• Current Fellowship of the RACGP (FRACGP) or ACRRM (FACRRM) — essential

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency, essential; visa sponsorship is not available for this role

• Current unconditional AHPRA registration and CPD compliance

• Genuine interest in aged care, complex chronic disease, dementia and palliative care

• Professional indemnity insurance

• ABN (or willingness to obtain), independent contractor engagement under a service facility agreement
