This capability supports the consistent delivery of vaccine studies with accelerated timelines.
Fusion is a subsidiary of CMAX Clinical Research, one of Australia’s largest and most experienced Phase I – II clinical trial units.
About the role:
As a member of the Fusion Leadership Team, the Clinical Trials Manager will assist the Clinical Research Director to provide effective leadership in the planning, organising, communicating, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and managing of study team objectives to ensure that all clinical studies are conducted to a high standard of quality consistent with Fusion and CMAX Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and relevant regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
The Clinical Trials Manager will achieve effective outcomes as follows:
- Lead, mentor and develop the Clinical Trials team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative and compliant research environment;
- Drive the successful planning, implementation and delivery of clinical trials in accordance with ICH-GCP, regulatory requirements and organisational SOPs;
- Oversee study feasibility, budgeting, timelines, ethics submissions, study documentation and sponsor engagement;
- Manage the end-to-end coordination of clinical trials, ensuring milestones, quality standards and budgets are achieved;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, investigators and external clinical partners;
- Monitor team performance, provide coaching and support career development across the department;
- Ensure effective resource planning, risk management and timely escalation of study-related issues;
- Oversee study close-out activities, reporting and documentation to ensure successful completion of all trials;
- Champion quality assurance, continuous improvement initiatives and the development of clinical research systems and processes;
- Contribute as a member of the Leadership Team and provide leadership support in the absence of the Clinical Research Director.
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate science or other relevant area or equivalent experience in a related field;
- Post graduate qualifications such as MBA or management qualifications would be advantageous;
- Extensive experience in clinical research, including leadership and clinical trial management;
- Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, clinical research regulations and quality standards;
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams;
- Demonstrated project management experience, including study planning, budgets, timelines and risk management;
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship-building skills;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities with exceptional attention to detail;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical research environment;
- Commitment to continuous improvement, quality and operational excellence.
