About the Role
As our security practice continues to grow, we are seeking expressions of interest from individuals who are passionate about cyber security and interested in joining our team as a Cyber Security Analyst or Cyber Security Engineer. In this technical role, you will support both customers and internal teams by delivering managed security services, assisting with the design and improvement of the offering, responding to security incidents, providing security advice and guidance, and helping customers strengthen their security posture. This opportunity is based in either Hobart or Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and investigate security events from various channels (SIEM, Tickets, Email, Phone).
- Conduct security analysis, triage, and vulnerability tests, recommending and implementing solutions.
- Develop and maintain security procedures, policies, and client documentation to ensure compliance.
- Oversee vulnerability management, ensuring compliance with governance standards and remediation.
- Collaborate with teams to safeguard corporate data and technology platforms, enhancing security measures
- Provide technical and professional guidance to Account Managers, Service Managers, and Solutions Engineers
- Design, implement and maintain security solutions across Microsoft and third-party security platforms
- Perform threat hunting and proactive security investigations across customer environments.
- Develop scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Participle in a rostered on-call roster.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from people who have experience or exposure in areas such as:
- Cyber security operations or security monitoring.
- Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, or cloud security.
- Network, server, and infrastructure administration.
- Security incident response and vulnerability management.
- IT managed services or qualified services environments.
- Security frameworks, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with SIEM, XDR, EDR or security monitoring platforms.
- Experience working with Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Entra ID or Intune.
- Scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, KQL, Python or similar).
Relevant certifications are highly regarded, including:
- Microsoft Security certifications (particularly SC-200 or higher).
- Fortinet, Cisco, Qualys, or similar security certifications.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Organised, punctual, self-motivated, and proactive, with a friendly and supportive attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to follow and apply security best practices.
- Basic knowledge of IT service management principles, such as those outlined in ITIL.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
