Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital

St John of God Subiaco Hospital is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and highly skilled Nurse Unit Manager to lead our Day Surgery team.

The ward is a 46-bed combined DOSA and Day Surgery Unit providing preoperative and postoperative care to surgical patients in a wide range of surgical specialities. These include Cardiology, Orthopaedic, ENT, Vascular, Gynaecology, Plastics and General Surgery.

This is a key leadership role where you will be responsible for leadership and management of the unit, optimising patient safety, quality of care and experience, operational efficiency and contributing to the strategic objectives of the Directorate.

The role is offered on a Permanent Part Time basis, working 72 hours per fortnight

The Position:

Ensures high-quality, compliant clinical service delivery through adherence to professional standards, accreditation requirements, and achievement of clinical quality benchmarks and KPIs. Promotes accountability and patient safety through effective risk management, incident investigation, and timely resolution of patient and VMO concerns. Demonstrates responsible financial stewardship through effective budget management and support of organisational financial goals. Delivers exceptional, person-centred patient experiences by using feedback and data to drive compassionate, high-quality care. Promotes safe, respectful, and dignified care environments that uphold patient rights, best practice standards, and target NPS outcomes.

You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse supported by advanced clinical expertise and a strong commitment to quality improvement, clinical governance, and risk management.

You will bring significant leadership experience in a senior nursing role within an acute hospital setting, with a proven ability to deliver operational,



financial, and service outcomes. You will foster a positive, patient-centred culture, build strong interdisciplinary relationships, and demonstrate strong computer literacy. Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the role will be highly regarded.
