Slam Engineering is an established professional engineering firm which provides services to the heavy industrial sector, emerging renewable projects and numerous mines sites in NSW. Additionally Slam Engineering is a Registered Training Organisation who delivers High Voltage Switching and Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) training. The company also continues to delivery Engineering Consultancy, Compliance Audits and delivers Industry Specific Training Packages.

We are seeking an experienced Casual Electrical Engineering Consultant to support our growing portfolio of High Voltage (HV) compliance, electrical infrastructure, and Energy Transition projects across Australia.

This role is ideally suited to a highly skilled electrical engineering professional with extensive experience in high voltage systems, compliance assessments, engineering reviews, and Australian Standards. As our business continues to expand into renewable energy, electrification and broader energy transition initiatives, the successful consultant will play a key role in delivering technically robust and compliant engineering solutions.

About the Role

Working on a adaptable casual basis, you will provide specialist engineering advice and technical support across a diverse range of projects including:

- High Voltage electrical system compliance assessments

- Electrical safety and regulatory compliance audits

- Asset condition assessments and risk evaluations

- Preparation of technical reports and client deliverables

- Support for project development, commissioning, and operational compliance





Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert advice on High Voltage electrical systems and infrastructure.

- Review designs and installations for compliance with applicable Australian Standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

- Conduct site inspections, technical investigations, and engineering assessments.

- Prepare professional engineering reports, compliance documentation, and technical recommendations.

- Support clients in managing regulatory, safety, and operational risks.

Essential Requirements

- Advanced Diploma to Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.

- Extensive experience in High Voltage electrical engineering environments.

- Strong working knowledge of Australian electrical standards and regulatory frameworks, including relevant AS/NZS standards.

- Demonstrated experience in compliance auditing, engineering verification, or technical assurance.

- Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and provide practical engineering solutions.

- Current Australian driver's licence and ability to undertake site visits.

Desirable Experience

- Energy Transition and decarbonisation projects.

- Mining, industrial, or infrastructure sectors.

- Project commissioning and operational readiness reviews.
