We're partnering with a leading Defence organisation seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to support the delivery of complex Defence capability projects.

This is an chance to play a key role in engineering governance, planning and delivery, working alongside senior Defence stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes across high-profile programs.

About the role

You'll provide engineering leadership across the full project lifecycle, supporting planning, governance, stakeholder engagement and engineering assurance activities within a complex Defence environment.

Working closely with senior engineering, project and commercial teams, you'll help coordinate engineering activities, manage risk and change, develop key engineering documentation and contribute to major project reviews and decision-making.

Key responsibilities
Lead engineering planning and governance activities across Defence projects
Develop and maintain Engineering Management Plans and related documentation
Coordinate engineering resources, reporting and project planning activities
Support tender evaluations, contract execution and engineering reviews
Manage engineering risks, issues and configuration change processes
Prepare briefing papers, decision briefs and senior stakeholder reports
Engage with Defence,



industry and project stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams
Mentor and support engineering managers within the program

About you

You'll bring strong Defence engineering leadership experience together with a solid understanding of engineering governance and project delivery within the Australian Defence setting.
You'll ideally have experience with:
Engineering Management Plans (EMP)
Systems Engineering and engineering governance
Defence acquisition or sustainment projects
CASG engineering frameworks and processes
Risk, configuration and change management
Working with senior Defence stakeholders
Major engineering reviews and project lifecycle management

Essential requirements
Active TSPV security clearance
Previous experience delivering engineering outcomes within Defence
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to operate across multiple engineering disciplines and complex programs
