Intermediate Accountant role across compliance and tax planning

The Company

A well-established boutique public practice accounting firm in Sydney CBD is seeking a capable, client-facing Intermediate Accountant to join a small, tight-knit team. The culture is relaxed and autonomous, with a solid client-service focus and a “results-not-hours” approach.

After an initial settling-in period, the firm offers genuine flexibility with hybrid working arrangements and flexible schedule.

The Role
Prepare draft financial statements, tax returns and depreciation schedules for review
Prepare draft BAS/IAS for review
Liaise directly with clients (virtual and in-person) incl. onboarding and ongoing support
Assist with tax planning work (not compliance-only)
Liaise with the ATO on client matters (ABN/TFN/GST/PAYG applications etc.)
Support with entity setup / registrations and general advisory support
Coding transactions,



bank and credit card reconciliations as required
Support offshore bookkeeping resources with technical queries and mentor junior staff

Your Background

You will ideally have:
Minimum 3 years’ public practice (business services) experience
Robust Xero experience (ideally Xero Tax)
Exposure to tax planning and entity structures (e.g., trusts / trading entities)
Confident, warm communication style and comfort dealing with clients
Stable work history and a proactive approach to development
CA/CPA (completed or in progress) beneficial (support available)
