Chapter Three Espresso & Bar is a vibrant café and restaurant located in the heart of Maling Road, Canterbury. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional coffee, delicious food, and outstanding customer service in a welcoming atmosphere. As we continue to grow our daytime café and evening dining service, we're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Barista & Bar Assistant to join our friendly team.
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and energetic team member who is passionate about coffee and enjoys working in a rapid-paced hospitality environment. This role combines barista duties with assisting at the bar during lunch and dinner service.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare high-quality espresso-based coffee and specialty beverages.
Assist with serving beer, wine, cocktails, and other beverages.
Deliver outstanding customer service with a friendly and professional attitude.
Restock coffee, bar, and beverage supplies throughout the shift.
Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic coffee and bar station.
Process customer orders using the POS system.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house team.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and RSA requirements at all times.
Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Barista in a busy café.
Strong coffee-making skills and confidence with espresso machines.
Previous bar experience is highly regarded.
Current RSA Certificate (required).
A positive attitude and strong communication skills.
Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy service periods.
Flexible availability, including weekends and evening shifts.
A team player with a robust work ethic and attention to detail.
