Café Gusto Botany is seeking an experienced and passionate Café Chef to lead our weekday café kitchen. Working under the guidance of our Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the café kitchen, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, and service while bringing your own creativity to seasonal menus and weekly specials.
Located within a beautiful business park in Botany, Café Gusto is a well-established café operating Monday to Friday, supporting both our café customers and Sydney-wide catering operations.
Duties Will Include
Leading the day-to-day operation of the café kitchen
Preparing and delivering our café menu to a consistently high standard
Creating weekly chef's cabinet menus and daily specials in collaboration with the Head Chef
Managing café kitchen service and ensuring smooth daily operations
Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to maintain consistency across all food offerings
Assisting with corporate catering and event preparation as required
Mentoring and supporting junior kitchen staff
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, presentation, and quality control
Bringing creativity, passion, and consistency to the café menu
Requirements and Skills
5+ years' experience as a Chef
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
Strong technical cooking skills
Previous experience leading a café kitchen or similar quick-paced environment
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Ability to lead a small team and maintain high service standards
Professional, reliable, and well organised
Robust communication and leadership skills
Experience across café, catering, and events will be highly regarded
