We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Secondary Design Engineerbased in Melbourne for our client. The company is a growing EPC contractor delivering utility-scale renewable energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), high-voltage substations and electrical balance of plant (eBoP) infrastructure projects across Australia.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for designing secondary systems from concept through to detailed design, construction and commissioning support, ensuring all work is delivered to the highest technical and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Design and review secondary systems including protection, control, SCADA, communications and AC/DC auxiliary systems.
Prepare engineering documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, panel layouts and design reports.
Develop protection and control philosophies and coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards,
utility requirements and project specifications.
Support procurement, FAT, SAT, commissioning and technical queries throughout project delivery.
Liaise with clients, utilities, contractors and equipment suppliers.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and continuous improvement.
Required Experience
Experience in secondary design for HV substations, transmission projects.
Experience designing protection, control, SCADA and communications systems.
Working knowledge of Australian utility design standards.
Experience producing detailed design documentation across multiple project stages.
Robust communication skills with the ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
