Role Description
The Mechanical Trade – SMP role is a full time, on-site position based in Perth and around sites across WA. The roll involves:StructuralInstallation of structural steel, pipe bracket systems and minor concrete worksMechanicalInstallation of specialised mechanical equipment, valves, instruments, pumps, dosing units and chemical buildingsPipingInstallation of PVC, HDPE, stainless steel & steel spools, crimped system and others as required




Day-to-day tasks include:Reading and interpreting technical drawingsPerforming safety inspectionsFollowing ITPs and construction methodologysAdherence to company and site safety proceduresAccurate completion of documentationCollaboration with supervisors, engineers, and other trades is essential to support productive project deliveryBe proactive in meetings and conversations around promoting a healthy workplace
QualificationsDemonstrated skills in SMP works across various sites.Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles relevant to structural, mechanical, and piping (SMP) works.Ability to interpret technical plans, schematics and work with 3-D models.Recognised mechanical / engineering trade qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Plumber, or equivalent)Driving licenceCurrent Working at Heights, Confined Space & Gas testing atmospheresEWPStrong focus on workplace safety, familiarity with safe work procedures, and ability to follow site-specific requirementsCapacity to work in office in varied industrial environments, including remote or mining locations, when requiredEffective communication skills, ability to work in a team, and reliability in meeting project deadlinesMust be able to pass a full medical and D&A;
