Carinity Education – Rockhampton have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing (YWSW) to join the team. This role provides support to youth in their academic endeavours contributing to a rich education experience in a caring setting.
The YWSW plays an important role encouraging the spiritual and cultural development of young people and ensuring that the social and emotional environments within the school are positive, respectful, and calm.
This position is a part time position (term time only), requiring availability Monday to Friday between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
What do I need for the role?
Certificate IV in Teacher Aide, Youth Work, or similar relevant discipline
Experience in providing Youth Work, education, and support services to marginalised young people
Ability to provide trauma-informed approaches to manage challenging behaviour, prioritising de-escalation, and least-restrictive interventions for students
Possession of a valid LR Driver’s Licence or willing to obtain (Drive the School mini bus)
Hold a current Suitability for Working with Children card (Blue Card)
