We are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce on civil construction projects, particularly those within defence sites. This position requires Australian citizenship due to the nature of the defence contracts.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with WHS legislation and company standards.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Facilitate safety training and induction programs for employees and subcontractors.
Investigate incidents and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate records of safety performance metrics and compliance documentation.
Review, update and prepare Risk Assessments & SWMS

Requirements
Australian citizenship (mandatory for defence site access).




Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Safety Advisor in the civil construction industry.
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
Comprehensive knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and codes of practice.
Proven experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Proficient in administration tasks and confident in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Current driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
Ability to pass a police check (defence security clearance)
Experience in supporting ISO Certification Audits
Experience in Hammertech & Skytrust
Experience working on defence projects or within high-security environments.
