Our client is a global construction organisation currently working on a payroll transformation project and in need of a Payroll Tester to support testing and validation of a recent payroll system before go-live.
This is a specialised, project-focused role where accuracy, attention to detail, and strong payroll knowledge (AU/NZ) are critical.
The Role
You'll work closely with the project team to ensure the new payroll platform accurately calculates wages, tax, and superannuation, and that outcomes align with the legacy system during parallel runs.
Key Responsibilities
System Testing & UAT: Develop test scenarios, execute test scripts, and log defects
Parallel Runs: Analyse and compare pay outcomes between legacy and current systems to ensure 100% accuracy
Data Validation: Map current pay structures to current formats and resolve data integrity gaps
Compliance: Validate configurations against contemporary Awards and AU/NZ legislative requirements (PAYG, Superannuation, STP, etc.)
Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with Payroll, IT, People teams and vendors to troubleshoot configuration issues
Documentation:
Assist with user guides and process documentation for the new system
Required Skills & Experience
Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing
Experience supporting payroll system implementations / upgrades / integrations (e.g., ADP, Ramco, etc.)
Understanding of the software testing lifecycle (test scripts, execution, defect logging)
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and strong reconciliation capability
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills
