THE ROLE

The Principal Adviser plays a key role in supporting the critical operations of the Communities and Families Service Transformation Program and the Directorate, providing high-level strategic advice and support to the Executive Director, Senior Leadership Team and the broader program. The Principal Adviser is required to develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with stakeholders across the department and the sector, regularly liaising with a wide range of client, community, staff and inter-governmental stakeholders with a high-level of professionalism, initiative and collaboration.

The Principal Adviser supports the delivery of outputs for the program, including the management of strategic projects, preparation of high quality written materials, implementation and management of processes to meet expected deadlines and standards, monitoring performance and compliance against plans and key performance metrics, event and communication management, and implementing change management processes. The position also undertakes research to support innovation, service improvement and reform activities.

The position will require highly developed leadership and people management skills,



high level written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to be responsive to tasks including the provision of responses in a timely manner.

This is a rare prospect to hold a change leadership role at the centre of one of Victoria's most significant social services technology programs. The successful candidate will be a highly team-oriented and skilled leader motivated to work in partnership with front line practitioners, operational and system leaders, clients and technology partners to generate cutting-edge yet feasible solutions that improve client outcomes.

Accountabilities Include
Lead and coordinate key projects on behalf of the program, ensuring that project outcomes align with government and departmental objectives.
Provide high level expertise and authoritative advice, including autonomously where required, ensuring that any advice conforms to departmental or divisional guidelines, plans, templates, protocols or frameworks.
Prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, briefs, correspondence, performance reporting and submissions on complex matters.
