Civiltest Pty Ltd is seeking aSoil Technician to join our Darwin branch. We welcome applications from both entry-level candidates looking to start a career in geotechnical testing and experienced Soil Technicians seeking their next opportunity.
Working across both laboratory and field environments, you will undertake a range of soil testing to support infrastructure, mining and construction projects throughout the Northern Territory. Full training will be provided for the right candidate, with ongoing opportunities for career development and progression.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a range of laboratory and field soil tests, including moisture content, density, particle size distribution and Atterberg limits.
Prepare, test and record samples in accordance with Australian Standards and company procedures.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory and field equipment.
Accurately record and report test results.
Work safely in accordance with company policies, procedures and safety standards.
Collaborate with laboratory staff, project managers and clients to deliver high-quality testing services.
About You
A robust work ethic and willingness to learn.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A current driver's licence.
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
Previous experience in soil testing, construction materials testing or laboratory testing.
Knowledge of Australian Standards and geotechnical testing procedures.
Certificate III or IV in Laboratory Techniques or a related qualification.
