GTNTGroup is proud to partner with Power and Water Corporation to offer an exciting apprenticeship prospect with the NT's largest Electrical and Water provider. We are currently seeking to employ an Apprentice Line Worker hosted byPower Water Corporation in Darwin. As an Apprentice Line Worker, you will gain hands on experience while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead (UET30621) in a paid apprenticeship position. Duties include installing overhead or underground electrical lines to distribute power. Inspecting power lines, poles, transformers, and other components to identify signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.

It’s important to note that Line Workers need to scale ladders up to 17m high, and work from elevated work platforms up to 45m high. Their work requires technical expertise, physical strength, working at heights and a dedicated mindset to safety in often challenging and hazardous conditions.

To be successful in this role, you will have/be:




-Driver's Licence (preferably manual)
- A valuable level of Maths and English
- Self-motivated with a genuine desire to learn and work in a team workplace
- Demonstrated commitment to safety awareness and performance
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to obtain a Police Check.

Qualification Description:

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge to work in the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) as an Overhead Distribution Line Worker. This qualification covers the installation, maintenance and inspection of poles, structures, hardware, electrical apparatus and the use of support plant, tools and equipment.

Nominal Duration: This qualification has a set nominal duration of 48 months. This is the amount of time you need to be committed to, for successful completion of this qualification

Registered Training Organisation (RTO)

Off-the-job training is provided byEnergy Skills International Pty Ltd.As the RTOis located interstate, Apprenticeswill be required to travel interstate to complete their scheduled trade school training throughout the apprenticeship.
