Austek Roads (ACT) are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team based in Hume, ACT.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of high-value asphalt and civil infrastructure projects within the ACT and surrounding regions. This role involves strategic planning, financial oversight, client relationship management, and the leadership of project teams to ensure all works are delivered safely, on time, and to technical specifications (Transport for NSW / Major Projects Canberra).
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Operations
Lead the execution of multiple concurrent asphalt projects
Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring resources are optimised.
Oversee the coordination of night shift operations and weekend works as required by client demand.
Manage sub-contractor engagement and performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Financial Management
Full P&L; responsibility for assigned projects
Prepare and track progress claims, variations, and monthly financial reporting.
Identify opportunities for cost-saving through cutting-edge paving methods or supply chain optimisation.
Manage procurement of raw materials in line with project budgets.
Quality & Technical Compliance
Ensure all works comply with Australian Standards, specifications, and local ACT government requirements.
Oversee the development of Quality Management Plans (QMP) and ensure accurate asphalt testing and logging.
Manage the close-out of projects
Safety & Environmental Leadership
Promote a "Safety First" culture, ensuring all site personnel adhere to WH&S; policies.
Conduct regular site safety audits and lead incident investigations when required.
Manage environmental compliance
Stakeholder & Client Management
Act as the primary point of contact for government bodies, private developers, and community stakeholders.
Negotiate contract terms and manage dispute resolution professionally.
Attend site meetings and provide technical advice to clients regarding asphalt mix selection and pavement longevity.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
The role is a mix of office-based management and active site supervision.
Adaptable availability is required to support night shift start-ups and weekend "possession" works.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction site environments.
