External Claims Adjuster

Location: Hervey Bay

Salary: $90K + $15k car allowance + fuel card + bonus

MAYDAY are excited to be assisting a global insurance brand with the recruitment of a External Claims Adjuster within their Hervey Bay Office. This is a key role where you will become an integral part of their robust team, that will ultimately assist in restoring our customers’ lives, where they’ve faced loss or damage to their properties.

You will be a self-starter and will be confident in completing site inspections, ascertaining cause and extent of damage, appointing trades/other relevant specialists, and providing a seamless end-to-end claims experience for the end customer. Whilst this role would suit someone who has a loss adjusting/claims background, we are open to hearing from you if you are a tradesperson, have a property management background or have worked in a similar field where you can apply your transferrable skills to managing claims from start to finish.

Main Responsibilities:
Complete on-site and desktop assessments
Determine cause, scope, and extent of damage
Appoint and coordinate trades and specialist providers
Deliver a seamless, end-to-end claims experience
Produce high-quality, concise reports for clients
Maintain accurate documentation, including decisions and reserve changes
Communicate proactively with customers and stakeholders on claim progress

About you:
Background in loss adjusting, claims, trades, property, or similar (highly regarded)
Loss Adjusting or relevant professional qualifications preferred
Confident communicator with empathy, professionalism & solid listening skills
Natural problem-solver with curiosity to find root causes
Customer-focused with a calm, considered approach
Resilient, proactive and able to manage your own workload
Current and valid driver’s license
