Mellow Johnny’s is opening a brand‑recent licensed Pizzeria, Café and Dessert Bar in Bunyip and we’re looking for an experienced Pizza Chef to join us from the very beginning (opening expected late Sept / early Oct). This is a rare opportunity to help shape a new venue, work with top‑tier equipment and grow your career as the business expands.

Our kitchen is being built around precision, consistency and quality. With a state‑of‑the‑art electric oven offering stable temperatures, fast recovery times and exceptional bake control, you’ll have the tools to produce outstanding pizzas every shift.

What You’ll Do
Control all aspects of dough preparation.
Utilise a high‑performance electric pizza oven.
Stretch, top and cook pizzas from start to finish.
Set up and maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.
Deliver high‑quality food during busy service periods.
Assist with prep, stock rotation, ingredient management and kitchen organisation.
Uphold strict food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Contribute ideas for specials, menu development and continuous improvement.
Help build a positive, supportive kitchen culture in a brand‑new venue.

Skills and Experience Required
Experience working in an Italian restaurant or pizza section preferred




Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a team-based kitchen environment
Strong attention to quality, consistency, and presentation

What We’re Looking For
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a pizza or high‑volume commercial kitchen.
Solid dough‑handling skills and confidence operating commercial electric pizza ovens.
Ability to work cleanly, efficiently and calmly under pressure.
Good communication skills and a team‑focused attitude.
Reliability, professionalism and pride in presentation and consistency.
Willingness to work rotating rosters, including weekends and public holidays.
Passion for outstanding food, quality ingredients and exceptional customer experiences.
