JWS Industries is seeking an experienced Painter / Blaster to join our Structural Integrity Maintenance Services (SIMS) team. This is an excellent chance to secure ongoing work on a long-term maintenance contract across the Southwest region of Western Australia. About the Role
As a Painter / Blaster, you'll play an important role in maintaining and protecting structural steel assets by delivering high-quality surface preparation and protective coating applications.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare steel surfaces using abrasive blasting, high-pressure water blasting, grinding, needle gunning, and other mechanical methods.
Apply protective coating systems, including epoxy, polyurethane, and zinc primers, in accordance with project specifications.
Perform coating touch-ups and repairs during and after installation.
Conduct work safely at heights using scaffolding and Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs).
Ensure all blasting and painting activities meet client specifications, including coating thickness and surface profile requirements.
Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Painter / Blaster Trade Certificate or relevant industry experience
Current Australian Driver's Licence
High Risk Work Licence (EWP, Rigging, or Dogging)
Current Working at Heights certification (within 2 years)
Current Confined Space certification (within 2 years)
Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and site-specific testing
Highly Regarded
