Plate & Steel Industries is an Australian‑owned steel processing business with a growing workload. We are seeking a reliable and detail‑focused Despatch Hand to join our day shift team at our Braeside facility.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering a quality product to customers and enjoys working as part of a busy team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Full‑time, permanent day shift position
Reporting to the Operations Manager
Working closely with the Despatch Team Leader
Packing and preparing steel parts ready for shipment
Operating plate cleaning and finishing equipment
Forklift operation and general despatch duties
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pack, protect, and prepare steel parts to customer requirements
Operate plate cleaning equipment to ensure product quality
Load and unload trucks using a forklift
Identify, label, and stage orders accurately for dispatch
Coordinate daily priorities with the Despatch Team Leader
Ensure correct quantities, documentation, and presentation of goods
Maintain a clean, organised, and protected work area
Follow all WHS policies and procedures
ABOUT YOU
Previous experience in despatch, warehousing, or manufacturing (preferred)
Current forklift licence (required)
Robust attention to detail and accuracy
Takes pride in delivering a quality product
Comfortable handling steel products and manual work
Able to work effectively within a team workplace
Reliable, punctual, and safety‑focused
Willing to undergo drug & alcohol screening
Able to pass a police check
Full working rights in Australia
