Metropolitan Memorial Parks is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Hand – Plant & Equipment (Shared Services Support) to join our team at Rookwood General Cemetery. This position supports the day-to-day reliability, cleanliness and readiness of operational assets and plant equipment across the grounds.

About the Role

This role helps ensure equipment and resources are secure, clean, functional and ready for operational use whilst also supporting event preparation, funeral and chapel set ups, signage and general shared services duties as required.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain the daily cleanliness and functionality of equipment.
Basic outstanding of grounds maintenance tools and equipment.
Assist with the booking and delivery of equipment for external servicing.
Liaise with grounds staff, management and suppliers to support daily operations.
Prepare, arrange and pack down equipment for events, funeral services and chapel set ups as required.
A strong focus on safety and ability to follow correct procedures.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and willing to take a hands-on approach. You will enjoy working as part of a team,



supporting daily operations and assisting across a variety of tasks when needed.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience coordinating machinery, vehicles, equipment or resources in an operational setting (highly regarded).
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise daily tasks.
Respectful communication skills when working in the cemetery setting.
Confidence communicating with internal teams, management and external suppliers.
Enjoyment of outdoor work in various climates.
Current NSW Driver’s license.
White Card (or willingness to obtain).
