Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology. We are seeking an Engineering Manager for our rapidly growing Engineering team in Australia. The role reports to the Director of Engineering and focuses on delivering top customer solutions for APAC.

Responsibilities - Collaborate with the triad (Designer, Product, Engineering Manager) to understand APAC customer challenges and craft a roadmap.
Lead a newly established engineering team to solve complex problems for Clio customers, optimizing performance, reliability, scalability, and interface design.
Provide code reviews, architecture feedback, and support technical decisions.
Participate actively as a contributor, shipping code or reviewing code across global teams.
Conduct 1:1 meetings to support growth opportunities and development goals.
Participate in hiring to grow the engineering team.
Teach and learn from peers, give constructive feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications - At least three years of demonstrated success in people leadership within software development, especially using Agile for large-scale SaaS products.
Robust hands‑on software development background.




Diverse technical knowledge to help the team solve complex problems.
A record of successfully delivered projects and lessons learned from failures.
Ability to motivate, coach, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
Strong technical engagement and a willingness to contribute to code.
Openness to give and receive candid feedback.
Interest in improving craft with AI tools and techniques.
Bonus: Philosophy on great software teams;

experience with SaaS at scale; proficiency in Claude Code, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, or Python.
