About the role The Bakeologists is seeking a talented Baker to join our team in New Farm, Queensland. As a full-time baker, you will be responsible for creating a short but delicious range of sourdough and some yeasted breads for retail and in house use.

What you'll be doing
Mixing, kneading, fermenting, proving, baking and finishing products to consistent quality standards.
Monitoring ingredient quality and maintaining recipe consistency.
Leading and supervising bakery staff during production.
Training and mentoring apprentice and junior bakers.
Planning daily production schedules to meet customer demand.
Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ingredient ordering.
Operating and maintaining commercial bakery equipment safely.
Identifying opportunities to improve production efficiency and minimise waste.
Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
Assisting with recent product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential requirements
Trade qualification in Baking or equivalent industry experience




Minimum 3 years' commercial bakery experience (checkable references required).
Must be willing to start work late & weekend shifts and ability to work flexible hours when necessary.
A great attitude.
Solid product knowledge, including artisan sourdough, croissants and pastries.
Experience producing a broad range of bakery products.
Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced production environment.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Must have good communication skills & work within a team.
Current Food Safety Certificate.
