R andstad is seeking a skilled Emergency Management Officer with exceptional attention to detail to join a cooperative local government team. In this role, you will leverage your relationship-building skills and proactive mindset to drive positive outcomes in emergency response.

About your new role

Operative across response, recovery, and prevention, the role involves managing the Vulnerable Persons Register and Facilities List, supporting fire prevention administration, conducting community resilience programs, and facilitating the Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee.

System-wise, the officer is tasked with maintaining the Emergency Operations Centre (CEOC) in a state of readiness, administering user access in Crisisworks, and running post-incident debriefs. During active emergencies, the incumbent participates in an availability roster to serve as On Duty Deputy MEMO, Deputy Municipal Recovery Manager (MRM), CEOC Manager, or Emergency Relief Centre (ERC) Manager.

What you will need to exceed
Proven ability to participate in on-call availability rosters and respond calmly to agile, high-pressure incidents outside standard business hours




Practical experience in applying Community Emergency Risk Assessments
Solid understanding of emergency management legislation
Direct experience using systems like Crisisworks to manage user access, record Secondary Impact Assessment cases, and log operational activities
Experience in maintaining and administering Vulnerable Persons Registers
Proficiency in financial reporting, processing natural disaster purchase orders and invoices
Track record of building collaborative relationships with state and federal emergency management agencies
Robust administrative and secretarial skills to coordinate multi-agency committees

Must have
Working with children check (Employer)
First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification

Desirable
Experience in working for government
