Launceston Periodontics & Dental Implants is currently seeking a Dental Assistant to join our friendly family like team!
We are a busy practice located in Launceston offering speciality periodontal care. We value our staff and recognise their importance to an efficiently working practice and dental team. We are passionate about helping our patients and creating a protected and great experience for them, whilst always ensuring high-quality care.
The Role The position is available for an immediate start and will be offered as permanent part-time, with an 8 day fortnight with hours on weekdays only. For the right candidate we could review hours and days, and pay rate would be above award, and negotiable based on experience.
The role of Dental Assistant in our practice sees you working across chairside assisting, sterilisation and general reception duties.
The Job The Job will involve of the following tasks:
General and surgical chair-side assisting, entering clinical notes
Sterilisation, and general cleaning duties.
Assisting appointment booking, processing HICAPS claims and account management, liaising with patients and practitioners, data entry, mailing and general administration duties,
answering phone call and email inquiries.
Working along side Periodontists, Hygienist, visiting Prosthodontist all within a team of Dental Assistants and Receptionists.

About You
Our ideal candidate would offer:
Minimum Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting (Preferred)
Highly professional, with valuable personal presentation.
Must be able to communicate effectively- both written and oral- with patients and other team members.
Extremely organised, with the ability to prioritise busy work loads, manage multiple demands within required time frames.
Robust attention to detail and ability to adapt to different working techniques and areas.
Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and kind soul.
Brings a vibrant and “can do” and “have a go” attitude and initiative to the practice.
Goes the extra mile for patients.
