We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Paraplanner to join our team to be the right hand for our Principal Adviser. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to our Principal and clients by assisting at all stages of the advice preparation cycle including assisting with implementation. The Senior Paraplanner will work closely with the financial advisor to ensure that clients receive the best possible advice and service.
This role can be undertaken on a part time basis, with options including three full days or four days/week school hours. We would prefer an in-office role however flexibility to work from home for some days can be negotiated. Salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant and is expected to be in the range of $100,000 to $120,000 pa for the Full Time Equivalent with superannuation entitlements in addition.
Responsibilities:
Co-ordinate with accounting firm team members to obtain relevant information for clients at initial fact find and review.
Conduct research and analysis in developing financial plans for clients
Prepare strategy papers and alternative strategy analysis
Conduct detailed modelling for wealthy family groups with family trusts, testamentary trusts,
SMSF and investment companies featuring in the majority of group structures
Prepare statements of advice and records of advice addressing wealth accumulation, life insurance needs, retirement planning, estate planning, and investment planning
Communicate with clients to gather information
Prepare reports and presentations for client meetings
Implement advice provided in accordance with firm policies and procedures
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in financial planning or a related field including the preparation of statements of advice
Extensive experience with SMSF requirements, ideally with some further study undertaken or willing to be undertaken
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in financial planning software and Microsoft Office
Accounting background or high net wealth/business client experience highly regarded.
Police and other background checks will be required to be a successful applicant in this role.
