About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Accountant with tax experience to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across a diverse client base and is confident using modern accounting software, including MYOB, Xero, and other cloud‑based platforms.
You will be responsible for preparing tax returns, supporting compliance work, and assisting with general accounting tasks in a cooperative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare individual, partnership, company, and trust tax returns
Complete BAS, IAS, and other compliance obligation
Assist with financial statements and management reports
Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate client records
Communicate with clients in a professional and timely manner
Use MYOB, Xero,
and other accounting software to manage workflows
Payroll
Support senior accountants and partners with ad‑hoc tasks
Administration functions as required
Skills & Experience
Minimum 2–3 years' experience in public practice accounting
Strong understanding of Australian taxation and compliance
Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, and other accounting systems
Intermediate level proficiency in MYOB and Xero is required
Excellent attention to detail and time‑management skills
Strong communication and client‑service mindset
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
Minimum qualification of Diploma in Accounting is required
Progress toward CA/CPA (desirable but not essential)
Must have current Australian work authorisation
