ABC News Breakfast is seeking expressions of interest from experienced broadcast producers to join its Melbourne-based team on a casual basis. The role involves covering complex international diplomacy one minute and star‑studded red carpets the next, in a supportive, fun environment.
Compensation & Location
$53 - $72 per hour depending on experience (plus additional early morning penalties)

Responsibilities
Work across the morning production desk with shifts starting at 2, 3 or 4am, and may also need to work afternoon and evening shifts.
Assist in producing concise, accurate and engaging content for TV and digital audiences.
Identify and suggest new story ideas or fresh angles for existing stories.
Help develop a varied contacts list to bring in guests that reflect modern Australia.
Work in a rapid‑paced team environment, both under direction and autonomously as required.
Qualifications
A working knowledge of TV and video production, ideally in a newsroom workplace.
A wide knowledge base covering national and international news, sports, finance and popular culture.
Demonstrated ability to use editing software.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced newsroom environment.
Additional shift penalties for the early and late hours apply.
