Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic

GMG Haulage is seeking a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic to join our busy workshop in Kwinana. If you take pride in quality workmanship, enjoy working on heavy vehicles and trailers, and want consistent Monday-to-Friday hours with overtime available, we'd like to hear from you.

About the Role

As part of our workshop team, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of heavy trucks and trailers to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy diesel trucks and trailers
Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
Identify defects through preventative maintenance inspections
Perform:
Brake servicing and repairs
Airbag and suspension repairs
Axle, wheel bearing, and running gear maintenance
Tyre inspections and wheel alignments
Electrical and lighting system repairs
Fabrication and minor structural repairs
Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation




Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and Main Roads WA standards
Maintain a safe and tidy work setting

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle, Diesel, or Trailer Mechanic (or equivalent)
Previous experience working on heavy vehicles and trailers
Solid diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Experience with brakes, bearings, suspensions, axles, and trailer running gear
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Current Australian Driver's Licence
A solid commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Full Australian working rights

Monday to Friday roster
Standard hours: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (flexible arrangements available)
Overtime opportunities
Competitive hourly rate of $45–$55 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
