Australian Rail Technology (ART) is a leading independent rail component remediation specialist, with a wealth of experience in mainline, high speed, freight, metro and light rail component remediation services. Our high-performance re-engineering process both restores original components and improves specification/longevity, thereby increasing asset life.

Our Port Adelaide site is seeking a trade qualified Refrigeration Technician/Supervisor to join our growing global team, as we take on current projects and expand our services.

This position will involve:

• Working on the maintenance of rail air-conditioning units (HVAC)

• Dismantling HVAC units (including degas) and cleaning components

• Copper brazing including compressor installation and the installation of other main components

• Clean, pressure test and recharge the refrigeration system

• Testing of HVAC units (Incoming and Outgoing)

• Maintain refrigerant handling reports for ARC

• Ensuring parts are on-hand and ordered for all work

• Manual Handling – using hand tools, hoists and trolleys

• Assembling units

• Participating in pre-work briefings and proactively making suggestions for improvement





To be considered for the role, you will hold the following skills and experience:

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

• Rail Air-conditioning experience and knowledge would be an advantage

• A current Refrigerant Handling Licence or willing to obtain

• Ability to lead a small team

• Have a keen eye for detail

• Ability to recognise and solve service/maintenance problems

• The experience to complete assigned tasks on time and to a high quality

• Current Electrical B Class Licence or higher

Our workshops must deliver repaired and overhauled train HVAC units to clients on time with quick turnaround, whilst maintaining impeccable product quality.
