A privately-owned practice in South Australia is seeking an experienced and qualified vet nurse to lead the team.

This chance is for a head vet nurse in a permanent, full time role. This position would suit a confident nurse who enjoys supporting colleagues, mentoring others and helping a small team work effectively together.

The clinic has three vets supported by two nurses. As head vet nurse, you will provide day-to-day support and mentoring to the nursing team while contributing across the practice’s general clinical workload.

Services offered by the practice include consultations, vaccinations, reproductive services, surgical and medical procedures, dentistry, euthanasia, puppy preschool, microchipping and farm visits. The practice uses EasyVet software.

The role includes participation in a shared after-hours roster.



Vets take the after-hours calls, and nurses are only called out when required. Nurses are paid to be on call, with the roster falling every fourth weekend.

Applicants must be qualified (Certificate IV or equivalent) and have previous veterinary nursing experience. The successful candidate will be comfortable taking on a leadership role and supporting the development of other team members.
