About The Role
As a Casual Shop Assistant, you'll help ensure the day-to-day operations of our Op Shop run smoothly. From serving customers to sorting and pricing donations, every shift contributes to supporting our charitable programs and creating a positive shopping experience for our community.
No two days are the same, making this the perfect role for someone who enjoys variety, working with people and being part of a purpose-driven organisation.
Key responsibilities
You Will
Deliver friendly, engaging customer service
Process sales through our point of sale system, including cash and EFTPOS transactions
Sort, clean, price and merchandise donated goods
Maintain an organised, protected and visually appealing store
Rotate stock and assist with inventory presentation
Support volunteers and contribute to a positive team culture
Respond to customer enquiries professionally and respectfully
Assist with banking and general store operations when required
About You
Has previous retail or customer service experience (preferred)
Enjoys working with people from all walks of life
Is reliable, organised and able to work independently
Takes pride in maintaining high presentation standards
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Works collaboratively within a team workplace
Demonstrates honesty, integrity and accountability
Shares our commitment to inclusion, diversity and community impact
What you'll bring
Previous retail experience (desirable)
Confidence using point of sale systems or willingness to learn
A positive, can-do attitude
A willingness to obtain (or currently hold) a Blue Card
Ability to complete a National Police Check prior to commencement
