About the Position
Reporting to the Team Leader Community Assets, the Green Infrastructure Planner plays a key role in shaping ecological sustainability outcomes across the City of Onkaparinga's built and natural environments.
This position is responsible for developing Council's Green Infrastructure Management Plan and supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives, renewal programs and climate adaptation projects.
Working collaboratively across the organisation and with external stakeholders, you will provide expert ecological advice, develop project scopes and business cases, coordinate environmental assessments, and identify opportunities to enhance biodiversity, ecological sustainability and community outcomes.
You will also contribute to grant applications, strategic planning, performance reporting and the development of future green infrastructure programs that support Council's environmental sustainability and climate resilience objectives.
About You
You are a strategic and passionate environmental professional who enjoys turning sustainability goals into practical outcomes.
With demonstrated experience in ecological planning, biodiversity management and green infrastructure projects, you can confidently provide technical advice and build productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Your ability to analyse information, identify opportunities and develop innovative solutions is complemented by strong communication and project planning skills.
You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to delivering sustainable environmental outcomes that benefit both the community and the natural environment.
You will hold tertiary qualifications in environmental science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience, and bring a sound understanding of environmental legislation, ecological management practices and climate adaptation principles.
Key Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated experience in planning,



developing and delivering ecological improvement or green infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of biodiversity conservation, ecological management principles and environmental best practice.
Experience preparing management plans, project scopes, strategies or programs related to environmental sustainability.
Sound understanding of relevant environmental legislation, including the Native Vegetation Act, Landscape South Australia Act and more broadly the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act ****.
Proven ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders, government agencies and community groups.
Tertiary qualifications in environmental science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
