Parks operations Lead
Permanent Full Time
$111,000 – $138,000 + up to 15% super + commute use vehicle
Lead the people behind the parks your community is proud of.
Join an established team and focus on taking a outstanding operation to the next level.
Great parks don't happen by accident.
They're created by people who know how to lead teams, challenge the status quo and take pride in the spaces their community enjoys every day.
Not every leadership role is about walking into a business that needs fixing.
Sometimes the team is already performing well.
The foundations are strong.
The supervisors know what they're doing, and the maintenance programs are running well.
Now we're looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, develop their people and continue improving the way parks operations are delivered.
If you're ready for a role where you'll influence strategy, champion innovation and leave a lasting impact on your community, this could be the opportunity you're looking for.
About the role
This is your opportunity to lead an experienced team while influencing the future direction of parks operations across one of Perth's fastest-growing local governments.
Working closely with the Head of Service Delivery, you'll balance day-to-day operational leadership with long-term planning - supporting your leaders, managing resources and identifying opportunities to improve how parks services are delivered.
You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, drive innovation and create lasting outcomes for both your team and the community.
What you'll be doing:
Lead and inspire a high-performing parks operations team.
Oversee parks maintenance programs across the City's green spaces.
Coach and develop supervisors while building a positive team culture.
Manage operational budgets, contractors and service performance.
Drive continuous improvement through smarter systems and innovation.
Champion safety, quality and operational excellence.
Work collaboratively across the organisation to deliver outstanding community outcomes
You'll thrive in this role if...
You enjoy leading people and helping teams perform at their best.
You have experience in parks, horticulture, landscape maintenance or a similar operational environment.
You're equally comfortable thinking strategically and making practical decisions.
You enjoy improving systems rather than accepting the status quo.
You build strong relationships and communicate with confidence.
You take pride in delivering services that make a visible difference to the community.
Why you'll love working here
This is more than a leadership role - it's an opportunity to influence how one of Western Australia's fastest-growing local governments operates while working alongside people who genuinely care about making a difference.
You'll be empowered to bring new ideas,
improve the way services are delivered and make your mark on a growing community.
Perks and Benefits
We know the best work happens when people feel supported - at work and outside of it.
That's why we offer:
17.5% annual leave loading
A 9-day fortnight, giving you more time to enjoy life outside of work
