As a 'Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education' (CaRE) School, SMYL Community College offers an individually constructed alternative education program under theSchool Education Act **** (WA)for students in years 9 to 12.
All students enrolled at SMYL Community College experience significant barriers to education.
Teaching and learning is adjusted and support services provided, to meet individual student needs.
We utilise a collaborative case management model to find the most appropriate learning pathway for every student.
TheCampus Coordinatorprovides educational, operational, and pastoral leadership for a SMYL Community College campus.
The role ensures the effective coordination of staff, student wellbeing and engagement, behaviour support, curriculum delivery, administration, and community connections, within a trauma-informed, inclusive CaRE school environment that supports highly disengaged and at‐risk young people.

Selection Criteria
Demonstrated experience in a senior teaching, coordination or campus leadership role, ideally within alternative, CaRE schools, youth services or complex learning environments.
Demonstrated practical knowledge of trauma -informed education, wellbeing and behaviour support
Demonstrated ability to contribute to collaborative case management.




Experience supporting the design and delivery of individualised learning programs, adaptable pedagogy and project-based learning aligned with SCSA, CGEA, ADCS and vocational frameworks.
Experience working within vocational education and training environments, or collaboratively with VET/RTO partners
Demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day campus operations, including staffing, timetabling, facilities use and resource coordination.
Highly developed communication, conflict resolution and restorative engagement skills, including respectful and professional interactions with students, colleagues, families and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, social justice and inclusive education, aligned with CaRE principles and strengths-based approaches.
Essential Professional Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification in education, youth work, social science or a related field.
Current Working with Children Check and valid driver's licence.
Highly Regarded
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Education recognised in Australia, with current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
Previous experience working within a CaRE school or alternative education setting supporting highly disengaged young people.
Formal leadership training and/or demonstrated experience in campus, site or program coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
TAE qualification or willingness to obtain one is highly regarded.
