Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you'll play an important role in helping students achieve success in a versatile and supportive learning environment.
Job Description
As a Teacher Aide within our Distance Education team, you will support teachers in delivering engaging learning experiences for secondary students in an online environment.
You'll work closely with students, teachers and families to encourage participation, build confidence and support positive educational outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting students individually and in small groups with their learning.
Assisting teachers with the delivery of online lessons and learning activities.
Providing learning adjustments and supporting NCCD requirements.
Supporting students with disabilities and additional learning needs.
Assisting with literacy and numeracy programs.
Maintaining student records and learning documentation.
Assisting with administration and virtual classroom organisation.
Contributing to a positive, safe and supportive learning environment.
This is apart-time, term-time position (32 hours per week)based at ourDistance Education campus in Varsity Lakes.
Skills and Abilities
We're looking for someone who:
Holds a minimumCertificate III in Education Support(or equivalent).
Holds a currentQueensland Blue Card.
Has experience working as a Teacher Aide in a secondary school setting.
Has experience supporting young people with disabilities or who have disengaged from education.
Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is confident using technology and online learning platforms.
Builds positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
Is compassionate, adaptable and committed to helping young people succeed.
