A Senior Farm Hand position is available on a family-owned farm at Meckering out of Northam in the Wheatbelt Region of Western Australia.
The farm fosters a mutually supportive team working culture and offers a family friendly work life balance while producing broad acre cereals at two farms in the local area.Your duties include operating a variety of well-maintained, modern GPS guided Ag machines to prepare, plant, fertilise, spray, and harvest crops, mechanical and general farm maintenance, and the farmer can tailor your machinery operating tasks to your strengths and preferences.
The position is best suited to an enthusiastic team worker who enjoys broad acre cropping, looks after the machinery they operate, likes a tidy, organised environment and brings effective communication, problem solving, mechanical and general farm maintenance skills.
Reliable workers with tractor and mechanical maintenance experience in Agriculture who would like to expand their skills are also encouraged to apply as the farmer will teach you.
A current manual driver's licence is necessary; a minimum HR truck licence is preferred but not essential.
Starting from now up to early October, this full time position is offered with a generous hourly rate matching your experience and comes with newly renovated air-conditioned 4x2 accommodation, electricity, and a work utility.
Pets are by negotiation.

SKILLS & QUALITIES
Demonstrated GPS dry land broad acre cropping skills
Self-propelled spray rig, header, and air seeding experience preferred
Or, demonstrated previous Agricultural tractor experience
Mechanical and general maintenance skills
Manual drivers' licence necessary, minimum HR truck licence preferred
Clean, tidy & efficient in a safe working environment
Effective communication and teamworking
