Are you an experienced Risk and Compliance professional looking for a role where your work genuinely influences organisational strategy, governance and operational excellence?
We are partnering with a well-established independent school to recruit a Risk & Compliance Officer who will play a key role in strengthening governance, supporting strategic decision making and fostering a culture of compliance across the organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, this is a permanent full time opportunity offering an excellent work life balance, seven weeks annual leave during school holidays, and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and the Board.
About the Role
This is a broad and varied position that combines governance, enterprise risk management, compliance, policy development and workplace health and safety oversight.
You will become a trusted advisor to leaders across the organisation, ensuring legislative and regulatory obligations are translated into practical, fit for purpose policies, procedures and risk frameworks that support day to day operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and continuously improving governance, risk and compliance frameworks
Developing and reviewing organisational policies and procedures
Managing enterprise risk registers and coordinating risk assessments
Monitoring legislative and regulatory changes and ensuring organisational compliance
Preparing reports for Executive Leadership and the Board
Coordinating compliance activities and governance reporting
Supporting workplace health and safety governance, including committee coordination and hazard management
Delivering training and guidance that builds a strong culture of risk awareness and compliance across the organisation
About You
We are seeking an experienced professional who enjoys working across both strategy and operations.




You may currently work in education, government, healthcare, aged care, local government or another highly regulated environment where governance and compliance are central to organisational success.
To be successful you will demonstrate:
Experience in enterprise risk management, governance and compliance
Strong policy writing and policy management experience
The ability to interpret legislation and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical organisational processes
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to work alongside Executive leaders, Boards and operational teams
Experience developing or maintaining risk registers, compliance frameworks and governance systems.
Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Knowledge of Australian risk management principles and Western Australian WHS legislation
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Commerce, Law, Insurance or a related discipline will be highly regarded
