Project Cost Control Lead

TCB Recruitmentis proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established Western Australian engineering and construction business delivering integrated solutions across the resources, construction, energy and infrastructure sectors.
With continued business growth and a strong project pipeline, our client is seeking an experiencedProject Cost Control Leadto establish and drive best-practice project controls across the business.
This is a key leadership role supporting Project Managers, Operations Managers and Senior Leadership by delivering accurate commercial reporting, forecasting and financial insights that drive informed decision-making and project success.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of project controls across multiple projects, ensuring consistent reporting, forecasting and cost management while partnering closely with operational teams to improve commercial outcomes.
You will play a pivotal role in identifying risks early, monitoring project performance and supporting the successful delivery of profitable projects.
Your Responsibilities
Take ownership of the commercial performance of multiple projects from commencement through to completion.
Deliver accurate cost reporting, forecasting and financial analysis to support business decisions.
Partner with Project Managers to monitor budgets, project spend and overall profitability.
Identify commercial risks and recommend practical solutions to improve project outcomes.
Prepare and maintain Cost to Complete (CTC) models and cash flow forecasts.
Track project progress against budgets, schedules and financial targets.
Review project variations, claims and cost movements to ensure commercial accuracy.
Produce clear,
insightful reporting for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement of project controls, reporting tools and business processes.
Work collaboratively with Finance and Operations to ensure timely and accurate project reporting.
What You'll Bring
Demonstrated experience leading project cost control or commercial functions within engineering, construction or mining.
Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret project performance and provide commercial insights.
Proven capability preparing budgets, forecasts and Cost to Complete (CTC) reports.
Experience using ERP or project management systems such as SAP, Oracle, Pronto, Workbench or similar.
Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence project teams.
Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
