About the Role:
Mater Dei College is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable teacher to join us on afull-time, ongoingbasis astheHead of Religious Educationto provide strategic leadership in the planning, development and implementation of the Religious Education curriculum.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to fostering faith formation, student engagement, and excellence in Religious Education within a contemporary Catholic school context.
The Head of Religious Education is a key member of the College Leadership and Academic Leadership Team, contributing to whole-school planning and strategic direction.
This position will commence1 January ****.
The Head of Religious Education will be responsible for a variety of tasks that is inclusive of, but not limited to:
Leading the development, implementation, and review of the Religious Education curriculum, including programs and course structures in alignment with the Western Australian Curriculum.
Overseeing the development, implementation, monitoring and/or writing of student assessments, ensuring compliance with College and SCSA policies and procedures.
Managing budgets, resources, and facilities within the Learning Area.
Actively contribute to College-wide planning and strategic direction as a member of the College Leadership Team.
About You:
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and cutting-edge educator who demonstrates a high level of professionalism whilst supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the College.
You will:
Have the ability to teach across all year levels (Years 7–12).
Hold a tertiary qualification in Secondary Education, preferably within Religious Education.
Demonstrate experience and expertise in Religious Education, Theology, or related faith formation disciplines, with thr capacity to support a diverse and inclusive Religious Education curriculum across year levels.
Be committed to creating engaging, inclusive,
and high-quality learning experiences that cater to a range of student abilities.
Show strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to mentor and collaborate with colleagues.
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Be dedicated to ongoing professional growth and staying informed of current developments in Religious Education.
Actively support and contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.
