Role Overview
Reporting into the WIP Shed Supervisor, the Trade Assistant will join our WIP Shed Department on a Full‐time basis at our South Guildford location.
This role involves working alongside our CRC teams to manage and deliver work‐in‐progress materials between the WIP Shed and the Component Rebuild Centre.
The WIP Shed plays a crucial role in managing the flow of work‐in‐progress materials between strip‐down and rebuild stages, supporting the Caterpillar Rebuild Centre with reliable solutions that enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the movement of materials within the WIP Shed
Manage inventory and maintain accurate system records
Operate forklifts (counterbalance and high reach) safely and efficiently
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth workflow
Independently manage daily priorities to meet operational deadlines
Qualifications & Experience
Experience working with mining, construction, or industrial equipment
Solid forklift operational experience is essential (not just licensed)
– confidence and capability to work independently from day one
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage daily tasks without supervision
Strong technical aptitude and ability to work across multiple systems
Proven ability to prioritise workflow and problem‐solve in a fast‐paced environment
Dogging (desirable)
Solid work ethic and positive attitude
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Experience using safety and risk assessment tools such as Job Safety Analysis and Take 5's
Roster
5 On, 2 Off – Monday to Friday
10.5 hours (inclusive of 30 min unpaid break) 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
2 weeks day shift, 2 weeks night shift
