About The Role
As a Laboratory Technician at ALS Environmental, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our testing processes.
You will be responsible for conducting analyses in line with quality standards, identifying anomalies in samples, organizing tasks to optimize workflow, ensuring deadlines are met, calibrating and maintaining equipment, managing laboratory consumables, maintaining a clean and sterile workspace, and performing calculations as needed.
This is a permanent, full‐time day shift role Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct extraction procedures and tasks per ALS Quality Work Instructions, ensuring QA/QC compliance.
Organize tasks for daily efficiency and meet set timelines and standards.
Report anomalies in results or samples to supervisor.
Maintain housekeeping, calibrate equipment, and perform calculations for analyses.
Manage consumable stock and assist with additional duties.
Use calibrated equipment and follow ALS quality procedures.
Comply with ALS HSE policies, state OHS legislation, and safety manual.
Ensure lab safety, report compliance issues, and promote safety culture.




Requirements
Tertiary education (degree or diploma in science, preferably chemistry).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Good chemical knowledge.
Ability to work autonomously or in a team.
Ability to plan and organise work.
Judgement and problem‐solving skills.
Positive attitude to safety requirements.
Appropriate level of aptitude on the tests allocated.
Requires standing/moving around the lab and ability to lift/carry up to 15 kg.
Eligibility
To be eligible to work at ALS you must be a citizen or permanent resident of the country you are applying for, or hold or be able to obtain a valid working visa.
