We are looking for an Accessibility Specialist / Tester with solid web accessibility expertise to ensure design system components meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards before release.
This role is ideal for someone who can combine accessibility testing, standards governance, and cross-functional collaboration to help teams deliver inclusive digital experiences at scale.
Key responsibilities
Analyse current-state accessibility issues and maintain the accessibility defect backlog for the design system.
Review component scope, behaviour, and design proposals to ensure alignment with WCAG 2.2 AA requirements.
Define accessibility acceptance criteria and structured test plans across component permutations and environments.
Conduct manual accessibility testing, including keyboard interaction and screen reader testing across web, iOS, and Android.
Execute progression and regression testing across Storybook, desktop, mobile web, and native platforms.
Identify, document, and prioritise accessibility defects,



and partner with developers to validate fixes through retesting.
Ensure implementations follow accessibility best practices across HTML, ARIA, and interaction design.
Provide practical remediation guidance and advocate for inclusive design across content, UI patterns, and user journeys.
Skills & experience
Strong experience in accessibility testing for web applications and design systems.
Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, ARIA, semantic HTML, and inclusive design principles.
Hands‐on experience with manual accessibility testing, screen readers, keyboard testing, and defect reporting.
Ability to work closely with designers, developers, and product teams to embed accessibility throughout delivery.
Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical guidance.
