About the role
West Aus Steel Supplies is seeking a skilled2nd Welderfabricatorto join our team on acasual basis.
This position is based at our facility inWattleup, WA ****and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced welder to contribute to our operations whilst maintaining flexibility in their work schedule.
As a 2nd Welder, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality welding work that meets our clients' specifications and industry standards.
Key responsibilities
Perform manual welding operations using various welding techniques and equipment to join metal components
Basic Mild steel fabrication
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and welding specifications to ensure accurate work
Prepare work areas and materials by cleaning, measuring and positioning components for welding
Inspect completed welds for quality, structural integrity and compliance with specifications
Maintain welding equipment in good working order and report any faults or maintenance requirements
Adhere to all workplace health and safety protocols and use personal protective equipment correctly
Collaborate with other tradespeople and supervisory staff to complete projects efficiently
Document work completed and maintain accurate records as required
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a welder, ideally in a steel fabrication or manufacturing setting, no trade qualification required
Competency in mig welding mild steel
Ability to Bbasic workshop drawings




Robust attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements relevant to welding operations
Physical capability to perform manual welding tasks and work in wide-ranging conditions
Reliable, punctual and skilled approach to work
